Intuitive Shade System

The shade system of IPS Empress Direct is designed to be intuitive. The Dentin shade is used to replicate natural dentin, while the Enamel shade is applied to recreate the natural enamel. Additionally, three transparency levels are available to mimic the play of light in the incisal (cutting edge) area of the tooth.

  • Dentin materials possess natural opacity and influence the overall color inside the tooth.
  • Enamel materials have greater transparency, allowing light to pass through the dentin materials naturally.
  • Three translucent materials (Trans 20, Trans 30, and Trans Opal) are used to control light reflections for a more natural result.

Create an Opalescent Effect

The special Trans Opal material allows you to create a realistic opalescent effect in just one step. Under reflected light, the material takes on a bluish tone, while under transmitted light, it appears reddish-orange, perfectly mimicking the natural light dynamics of teeth.
