A-Type, Hydrophilic Polyvinyl Siloxane Impression Material
Indications:
This impression material is indicated for obtaining precise impressions for crowns, bridges, inlays, onlays, implants, and laminates. It enables single-step impressions with the use of two different material consistencies, providing flexibility in clinical procedures.
Features:
- Hydrophilic properties: Performs exceptionally well in moist environments, ensuring accurate impressions under challenging conditions.
- Nano structure: Allows for detailed and accurate impressions without the need for excessive pressure.
- Dimensional stability: The impression retains its stability without deformation for up to 14 days, ensuring a reliable result.
- Multiple models: It is possible to derive more than one model from a single impression, offering versatility in dental practices.
- Direct application: The secondary impression material, in the form of a syringe, allows for easy and direct application to the working area.
Application – Monophase Technique:
- The Kerr Volume Mixer or Kerr Silicone Gun System is used for mixing the impression material.
- A single-use wash (secondary impression material) tip is attached to the syringe, preparing it for direct application.
- The primary impression material is dispensed from the automatic mixer into the impression tray.
- The secondary material is then applied using the syringe, starting from the gingival margin of the teeth, and directed only to the prepared area.
- The impression tray containing the primary material is inserted into the mouth.
- Once the impression material has set, the impression is removed in a single step, capturing an accurate replica of the prepared area.
Important considerations:
Certain substances like sulfur, aluminum chloride, and nitrogen compounds can interfere with the setting time of vinyl polysiloxanes. If retraction cords containing ferric sulfate are used, the area should be thoroughly rinsed with water afterward.
For machine-mixed stone model casting, the impression should be poured 20 minutes after taking the impression. If hand mixing is used, the impression should be poured 1 hour later.
