Intuitive Color System

The color system of IPS Empress Direct is designed to be intuitive. To recreate the natural structure of a tooth, dentin shades are used for the dentin layer, while enamel shades are applied to mimic the natural enamel. For the incisal edge (cutting surface), three different levels of translucency are available to replicate the natural play of light.

  • Dentin materials possess natural opacity, influencing the overall tooth color.
  • Enamel materials have higher translucency, allowing light to pass naturally through the dentin layer.
  • Three transparent materials (Trans 20, Trans 30, and Trans Opal) are used to control light reflection and achieve natural-looking results.
